Me gustó mucho la película, por ende esta adaptación al papel también y el epílogo fue un plus, lo amé。

The novelization based on the Disney film "Encanto" is readable, but (understandably) sparse。 I mainly got it to try and make sense out of the movie plot, which frankly left me baffled。 This helps, but the writer would have made the book more enjoyable if she remembered that a lot of potential readers don't understand Spanish and could have used some explanations of Spanish terms。 The novelization based on the Disney film "Encanto" is readable, but (understandably) sparse。 I mainly got it to try and make sense out of the movie plot, which frankly left me baffled。 This helps, but the writer would have made the book more enjoyable if she remembered that a lot of potential readers don't understand Spanish and could have used some explanations of Spanish terms。 。。。more

Have to say that I liked what Disney did with this story。In this book, in a charmed place called Encanto, we meet the Madrigal family, where the members have unique gifts such as been able to speak to animals, control the weather, making plants grow or healing anything with arepas con queso!Apart from the two man that married into the Madrigal family, only Maribel was left without a gift, still, when things start to take a dark turn in the Madrigal house, sweetly called Casita, Mirabel will be t Have to say that I liked what Disney did with this story。In this book, in a charmed place called Encanto, we meet the Madrigal family, where the members have unique gifts such as been able to speak to animals, control the weather, making plants grow or healing anything with arepas con queso!Apart from the two man that married into the Madrigal family, only Maribel was left without a gift, still, when things start to take a dark turn in the Madrigal house, sweetly called Casita, Mirabel will be the first one to step up and try to heal it!These story isn’t only about the magical gifts of this family, in fact, by the end of the book, and the explanation of what was happening, I came to see those same gifts as metaphors for each member。Let’s pic the two oldest sisters of Mirabella for an examples。Super strong Luisa, who everyone sees as the one carrying the weight of everything without ever fail, that simple act of always acting strong has a psychological tool on her, cause we don’t have to be the only ones carrying the weight of others alone。And then we have Isabela, always depicted as the “perfect” one, when given the chance, these flower girl will show how much to her there this than the image her family has and expects of her! It’s a book about emotions, hidden or at the surface, about the pressure we feel to be the ones our family wants us to be, about love and acceptance of ourselves and others, gifted or not gifted, cause we don’t always need to have a specific talented to be special or loved!❤️A perfect book, and I bet movie as well, to read/see by ourselves or with our loved ones during this Christmas season! 。。。more
